ACCCE President and CEO Steve Miller Statement on 2010 State of the Union Remarks

 "The President has made it clear to all Americans that jobs and economic recovery are of the utmost importance.

We agree with President Obama and look forward to working with Congress and the Administration to support investments that will maintain and create much needed jobs.

While the United States needs to invest in a variety of clean energy technologies, it is critical that those investments include clean coal technology. Coal is used to generate nearly 50 percent of America’s electricity. Investments in clean coal technology will not only create green jobs, they will also make our nation more energy secure and our environment cleaner.

ACCCE will continue working with Congress to develop carbon management legislation that achieves our nation’s environmental and economic goals. With the right legislation we can grow our economy, create jobs, and ensure a cleaner environment."
